Young pallbearer

To anyone who might give a darn, I apologize for being such a sketchy photo blogger. I promise to be better. Very soon.
This is a young pallbearer who helped transport a casket carrying a local detective who was killed while trying to apprehend a 15-year-old suspect. A cop murder is a big deal, of course, and there were plenty of tears and salutes and American flags -- but for some reason I couldn't take my eyes off this kid. I was mesmerized by the grease stain on this boy's left coat sleeve, a stain clearly left by the shiny metal rods running the length of the casket. He never cried, and I was ultimately unable to ascertain his relationship with the deceased, but...that slash of grease stain spoke more clearly than any tear could, at least to me. Grease never fades, I don't care what the cleaning product industry says.
